Pride celebrations are an act of resistance and joy. Not only does it build up the queer community but celebrates the diversity that is necessary to a healthy city.
Supporting pride also brings in a beautiful boost to the downtown small business community.
This year Boston will not be organizing a pride parade so the spotlight this year will be on Salem and the other North Shore communities.
